Uganda, commonly referred to as the Pearl of Africa is the source the world's longest river, the Nile that originates from Jinja, and starts its long journey to the Mediterranean sea.
On our recent Safari to East Africa, we visited the Source of the Nile for a full day rafting experience. We departed from our Hotel room in Kampala at about 08:00 am, and started off Eastwards of Kampala city to Jinja. The distance is about two hours drive to Jinja.
En route to Jinja, we encountered the local communities carrying out different activities on the roadside. We had a stopover at Mabira forest, one of the largest tropical rain forests in Uganda. This forest is a home to different bird species as well as many primate species such as the red tailed monkeys.
Upon arrival at Jinja, we were briefed on the whole process and what to expect during the rafting experience. we then proceeded for the rafting experience at Bujagali waterfalls. This site offers one of the beat rafting experiences in the world. The rafting experience here is truly a thrilling experience that will blow your minds, an experience you will live to remember.
